My name is Marisa. I was born in Belfast, Maine, where I still reside. At the moment I am an inactive C.N.A. Before I got pregnant with my daughter Savanah Marie I worked for a year at a nursing home in the Alzheimer’s unit. I enjoy helping others. I never did it for the money. While working at the nursing home I found out I was pregnant. I was unable to stay working because I was so sick and was in and out of the hospital. When I was 7 weeks 6 days pregnant I had to have my gallbladder removed. I was diagnosed with hyper nemesis, gestational diabetes, severe GERD, and severe high blood pressure. I was transferred to different area because I was so high risk. I ended up getting an IV in my arm for home and was one IV fluids 24/7. Because of all the complications I was dealing with, I knew enough was enough. Just when I thought nothing could get any worse I got severe preeclampsia and my doctor had to take my daughter at 33 weeks gestation by Caesarian section. She was born Friday December 18th, 2009 at 4:44pm. She weighed 3lbs 10ozs and was 16 an ¼ inches long. Because she was so early she went straight to the NICU for assessment. She has no problems, except the fact she was born so early. She was in the NICU till January 17th 2010. Could not wait to bring her home. I had my baby girl at home with me until February 15th 2010 when I woke to her in my arms but on her belly. She was not breathing. I did CPR and called for help. At the emergency room I waited and the doctor came out and told me there was nothing more they could do and that she was gone. My heart stopped, I was in complete shock. I just could not believe what I was hearing. I asked to see her and next to where she was, was a rocking chair. They picked her up and placed her in my arms and I rocked her and sang her lullabies. When I first saw her she looked like she was sleeping. My sleeping angel I said. At the point I still could not believe she was gone. Gone at the blink of an eye.
Because of what I have gone through, I want to be there to help each and every one of you. I am not a doctor, nurse, or councilor. Think of me as an angel mommy that is here to listen, give you some advice, and to help you through your journey. You are not alone and Babieswithwings is here to help you in every way that we know how.
Sincerely,
Marisa Whitney
